Together

Happy Sunday!

My DH is off to Spain today ... a golfing trip ... I'm hoping to catch up with an old friend tomorrow and I have lots of craft things to prepare for Thursday club this week so the time will pass quickly ...

Today is the start of a new prompt at

I got to choose the prompt this week and I chose
"Together"

This is the photo I posted on the blog - taken in Gibraltar

The family of apes that live on the rock are a close family ... always together and very cheeky! You have to watch yourself and your possessions
There were lots of Mums with their babies ...

But the photo that made me pick the prompt was one I took here at home ... unfortunately it's quite blurred as I took it quickly from a distance not to scare the "Together" couple - so I apologise for the poor quality

A fun shot from Gibraltar was these two guys ... working Together to create the illusion

And this one I took in Lisbon last year ...

It's the monument of Discoveries ... Prince Henry (The Navigator) stands at the forefront of the ship like monument - a tribute to all the explorers who sailed from here on their 'voyages of discovery'
"Together" the statues of crusaders, monks and other notable people including Vasco De Gama and Magellan stand ... I still remember learning about these people at school but never thought I'd ever visit their land ...

And a final shot I took in Cornwall

Birds of a feather flock Together

Together can be so many things ... I'd love to see what it is to you in your part of the world
Come and  share your photos with us at

And have a lovely Sunday

Papercraft Star - Altered Plaque

Hi there!

Time for a new photo inspiration challenge at Papercraft Star and this is what Jan has given us to work with this week

How cute!

When I saw this photo ... especially that little boot ... I knew I had a charm somewhere in my stash and it reminded me of a story my friend Keren related on her blog Here  (not for the faint hearted)
So I made this for her ...

It started life as a plaque from a set of 3 I found reduced to £2 ...

I preferred the woodgrain on the reverse of the plaque so I removed the letter (which will no doubt be used on something else) and pulled out the brass hook and after covering with DP I reinserted the hook to the other side...

from thereon it just came together so quickly

I hope this inspires you to get out your charms and come and join us this week ... we would also welcome your comments at Papercraft Star ... Let us know what inspires you with photo challenges ... perhaps you prefer the colours ... maybe you like the detailed ones that give you plenty of scope ...

We look forward to seeing you there

Have a lovely day!

A Bucket of Roses

Hello ...
It feels so good to be back in my little room surrounded by my craft supplies ... even though I dearly miss my Aunt and Miss Sheba ... her cat ... who would bound into my bedroom every morning to say good morning!

Today starts another challenge at City Crafter and this week sweet Charlene has picked a beautiful photo to inspire us ...

 ...and her challenge theme is
Flower Power

Char is asking that we create a project that includes
a minimum of 5 flowers and at least 2 different backgrounds - either DP or mixed media

I was so taken by this photo that I wanted to somehow replicate that bucket of flowers and this is what I came up with

I rubbed the brick embossing folder with silver ink to try and mimic the distressed chair and IRL it is more aqua

I love the little bucket ... I just hand cut a shape from silver mat card and stamped it in London Fog ink with a crackled effect and made a little handle from craft wire ... Foam pads help to give it some shape

This week we have the talented Beata  (our winner from week 169) Guest Designing for us ... Please do visit her blog Here to see her amazing creations!
This week's winner will also have a guest spot with us at CCCB so get out your supplies and come and join us ... remember you don't have to mimic the photo ... just follow the challenge theme
I can't wait to see what you come up with

Thanks so much for stopping by ... don't forget to visit CCCB to check out the wonderful designs from the rest of our team ...

Till soon

Fall Berries

Hello sweet friends...
Sunday is always the start of a new prompt at

and this week the prompt is "Fall"

It's a little early in my part of the world for real Fall colours ... The rich autumnal golds, yellows and copper that will grace us probably in another month.
I love the crisp mornings especially as the sun filters through the trees and the leaves crunch underfoot. But right now the trees and shrubs still have their green leaves though they now display a plentiful supplies of berries to see the wildlife through the winter

... many have already been eaten as you can see on this Elderberry ...
As I have been staying in Lincoln on the east coast of the UK - all my photos are from in and around my Aunts garden this week

If you were into making Elderberry wine ... there is no shortage of berries here ... and the honeysuckle is also laden

The Firethorn also has a plentiful supply but they are yet to turn colour ... these will be a magnificent bright orange colour

In fact there are berries hiding everywhere ...

It's late September ... The fields have been ploughed and the hay cut and stored but the roses still bloom

... along with pretty pink flowers

... and delicate but oh so pretty Fuchsia

This is my part of the world ... what's your like this time of year? We'd love to see ... Please link up at

Have a lovely Sunday

Till soon

Ciào!

Hello!
Gosh it's getting cold ... here in Lincolnshire the wind is always very strong and it a cold wind that blows!
Still I'm enjoying the break and some girlie time with my Aunt

Today starts a new photo inspiration challenge at
And this is your photo

Once again there is quite a bit to go on in this photo and you'll always find suggestions along with inspiration on the Papercraft Star blog
The photo reminded me of The Cafe Rouge ... not sure if you know what that is but we have a few of them in the UK ... Here's a shot of one in Manchester

As you can see this one is right next to the Italian restaurant and my card this week has an Italian theme with the French colours

I overlaid a digital image of the "Ciào" which I bought at Etsy onto my paper - the BG paper is a large A4 picture so I scanned it into my computer to make it smaller for my card and to add the overlay

Can you see I used a couple of cogs from the MPD Time Pieces set too ... They are just so versatile and add a little something to a masculine card ... And this card is for a male friend of my husband

I'd love to see your interpretation of the photo so I hope you'll join us this week ...

Ciào for now!

CCCB Colour Challenge

Hello!

It's my turn to host at City Crafter this week and I thought we'd go with a colour challenge based on this lovely photo

Aqua, White, Silver, Green are your colours

And here's my card ...

These papers have been hiding away for a long time and they were just perfect for this colour challenge ... whenever it's my turn to come up with a challenge - I never have anything in my head about what I will create ... sometimes I am struggling and think "Ros why did you pick that!" Lol! Fortunately it always comes together in the end

The die is by PTI

... and the flower was cut on my Cameo ... which I can no longer use as the power cable is broken! I see from the internet that I am not the only one who has experienced this and so far I have had no luck in finding a replacement ...sigh

This week we have the very talented Macarena guesting for us ... Macarena won our challenge in week 166 ... I'm sure she would love you to stop by her blog and say hello ... she makes such beautiful things ... and don't forget to visit the City Crafter Blog to check out the inspiration from the team this week ...

I'll be back with you tomorrow ... till then have a beautiful day!

Yellow

Happy Sunday!
I hope you are all well ... I'm in the beautiful county of Lincolnshire ... enjoying the peacefulness and my Aunts company ...
Thanks so much for your well wishes ... I'm happy to say that finally today my face is no longer swollen and I am not in much pain with my mouth ...

At Our Beautiful World this week ... the prompt has been chosen for us by Wendy and it is simply
Yellow

This is a photo of the leaves on a shrub outside my front door ... some leaves are yellow, some green and some variegated ... I took it just after it had rained and looking at it - it would have been a good shot for last weeks prompt of Bubbles!

I hope you aren't fed up of seeing my flowers ... because here are some Yellow ones in and around my garden

Can you see the bee to the right just about to land on this flower?

I wonder what you will come up with this week for Yellow ...
Our Beautiful World would LOVE to see your photos so please link up with us

Have a lovely day

Till soon

Graduation

Hi there!

This is just a quick post ... I had to have a tooth extracted yesterday and it wasn't an easy extraction ... I looked like I had been punched ... several times! And I feel it!
So I'm taking it easy today as I have club to do tonight ...

After posting the school album yesterday for my great niece Sophia ... I received a gorgeous photo in the post that I wanted to share with you ...

This is Sophia's "Graduation from Nursery" photo

That certainly cheered me up!

I'm leaving for Lincoln again on Saturday but I'll keep in touch ...

Till soon - Stay safe

Mona has designed for many companies and her versatility is amazing ... so much so that she has now designed an exclusive range of stamps, dies and stencils for

If there are any of you have not yet visited Mona's blog ... or her Mixed Media Challenge blog - I urge you to do so ... you will be in awe! You will also find tips tricks and tutorials to get the most from your supplies and learn everything from Card Making to 3D projects to Mixed Media ...

This is Papercraft Star's Photo Inspiration for this week ...

Mona generously sent each of our designers the exclusive Timeless Stamps and Time Piece Dies designed by her for us to use this week ...
(I will leave links at the end of my post for you)

I was so thrilled to receive these goods ... You all know how much I love anything to do with clocks and as little Miss Sophia has graduated from nursery to 'proper' school ... It gave me the opportunity to make a fat little album ready for some photos and journalling ...

The papers are a mix of Dear Lizzy and Crate Paper but all stamps and dies used are from
Timeless Stamps and Time Pieces

I made this in the shape of a little school house  ... Isn't the clock just beautiful! I've never used MFT goods before being in the UK and I am amazed at how much is in these sets and just how easy the dies cut!

You can see some of the cogs from the set next to my felt owl and I've used the clock hands as holders for the photo as well as a piece of the die cut clock to decorate the top of the page together with rhinestones

More cogs and I stamped the clock hands onto my paper where the photo mount is ... also a different clock face here

I stamped and embossed onto black card here to give a chalkboard effect and cut a couple of pencils up to stick onto a burlap frame ... the other themed buttons you can see came from my sweet friend Lynnda

I did use Rub-ons for the "best buddies" but again the cogs, clock hands and pretty black 'flowers' are from the sets
Feel free to click on all the photos to enlarge

Here on the left I cut the cogs from DP and the clock was done by leaving in the sections of the outer face in and stamping directly onto it

With all that embellishing I left the back just plain

I have loved playing with these sets and it's going to be hard for me to part with this little album ... but I'm giving it to Sophia's Grandma my SIL who will keep it safe

A great big THANK YOU to Mona for her generosity

Please hop over to the Papercraft Star blog to check out Mona's creation together with the that of the rest of the team and link up your entry to be in with a chance of winning this awesome Stamp and Die set

Thanks so much for stopping by -
Can I just also say that my thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by 9/11 as we remember today

Till soon
